Kinéis is a satellite operator offering global connectivity for IoT applications.
With its global coverage, Kinéis aims at complementing ground telecom networks in remote areas, without any roaming constraints.
Connectivity services
As an IoT connectivity operator, Kinéis offers several services for connected devices:
- data service, both uplink (Mobile Originated) and downlink (Mobile Terminated)
- native positioning, taking advantage of the Doppler effect
Kinéis history
Kinéis was created in 2018 by CNES and CLS to take over the operation of the Argos system and expand the traditional Argos activities by opening new services dedicated to the Internet of Things.

In 2020, Kinéis announced a historic fundraising of 100M€ for the development, production and launch of 25 nanosatellites, installation of 20 ground stations around the globe and update of the IT infrastructures for this renewed system | |

CLS was created by CNES in 1986 as a subsidiary, to exclusively operate, maintain and commercialize the Argos system | |
